HEALTH/FITNESS RELATED SERVICES

Many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have poor dietary habits, low physical activity, and weight disturbances. Likewise, people with disabilities need health care and health programs for the same reasons anyone else does to stay well, active, and a part of the community.

We will provide health-related services to individuals with disabilities, promoting a healthy living lifestyle and physical activity.

Adults of all shapes, sizes and abilities will benefit from physical activity, including disabilities and mental problems. For substantial health benefits, all adults will be encouraged to do both muscle-strengthening physical activities. Such physical activities will increase heart and lung functions, improve daily living activities and independence, decrease chances of developing chronic diseases, and improve mental health.
